The current study aims to investigate the effectiveness of intensive reading on EFL learners' vocabulary development. To reach this aim, two hypotheses are put forward. First, EFL learners use the reading strategies to process texts. Second, EFL teachers and learners are aware of the importance of reading and its effectiveness in developing learners' vocabulary knowledge. Hence, a descriptive method was adopted in which an online questionnaire was submitted to second year students of English at L'arbi Ben Mhidi University, to investigate their views about how they see learning through intensive reading. In addition, another online questionnaire was submitted to teachers to investigate their attitudes toward intensive reading and learners 'vocabulary development and explore the main types of reading and how they affect positively EFL student's vocabulary development. Accordingly, in the light of the obtained results, theory and practice, it appears that intensive reading plays a crucial role in helping learners develop their vocabulary knowledge.enVocabularyIntensive ReadingThe Effectiveness of intensive reading on EFL students vocabulary developmentthe case study second year LMD students at Larbi Ben M’hidi university of Oum El BouaghiOther
