The adsorption isotherm and the ion exchange with clay were studied to determine the adsorption mechanism. The effect of temperature on the maximum adsorption capacity has been measured. We have used X-ray diffractograms to establish a relationship between the structure of clay and the improvement of its adsorption capacity. The thermodynamic adsorption parameters (ΔG, ΔH and ΔS) were calculated from measurements of the quantities of La3+ ions adsorbed at different temperatures. These parameters were calculated between 11 and 110°C to understand the effect of temperature on the adsorption process.enMontmorilloniteK10AdsorptionIon exchangeThermodynamic parametersStudy Of Ions Exchanges During The Adsorption Of La3+ Ions Onto Montmorillonite K10Article
