The Middle East strategic importance lies in its geography, natural resources, agriculture, climate, and demography; all of that earns it a geopolitical position in the world that attracted many countries such as the United States and Russia. The Middle East is considered a trophy that Russia and the US seek to have. Both powers adopted new strategies to further their interests in the region. The two sides have engaged with regional countries and have competed in the fields of geopolitics, energy, and arms. The research analyzes international relations from the perspective of the interpretative theories such as Realism, Liberalism, and Marxism. The dissertation takes the Syrian Crisis as a case study in which it discusses first, the factors behind the eruption of the Syrian Crisis which were summed up to social, economic, and political.
