A quasi-experimental design was applied. Forty, third year english, students were randomly chosen in the department of Larbi Ben M'Hidi university. They were subdivided into two groups, an experimental group and a control group; they were pre-tested through setting a writing task individually in order to test their level in writing particularly their writing coherence. The experimental group was exposed to three treatment sessions in which they wrote collaboratively; meanwhile, the control group received the same writing tasks; however, they wrote individually. After that, a post-test was administered to both groups.
