dc.description.abstractThis dissertation is concerned with the effect of integrating the critical thinking skills in theEFL classroom and its impact on enhancing the students' reading comprehension .It alsoaimed at investigating both students and teachers perceptions about the use of this skills in theclassroom .a quantitative study was adopted in order to make a deep understanding about thetopic through which two questionnaires were designed .the sample population involved twogroups of master one English students at Larbi Ben M'hidi university with a total of 100students, in addition to 44 teachers of English from the same university. Analysis of theresponses demonstrated that the critical thinking skills have a crucial role in the EFLclassroom and the results indicate that these skills have an impact on the students 'readingcomprehension. On this basis, it is recommended for teachers and to take further steps inorder to enhance and evaluate these skills in the EFL classroom. Moreover, further research isneeded in order to identify other factors that could strengthen the effectiveness of these twovariables
