dc.description.abstractThe current study sheds the light on the difficulties encountered by EFL Master two students at L'aarbi Ben M'Hidi University of Oum El Bouaghi during the academic year of 2020/2021. A descriptive method has been used to confirm the hypothesis, which states that students have difficulty with the methodology when conducting their research and writing their dissertation. As a research tool, we used one questionnaire for gathering data from Master two students of English at L'aarbi Ben M'Hidi University. The questionnaire revealed that students have a misconception about what a dissertation is and how it has to be written; they do not master the methodology of conducting a study. In addition, students face problems with the supervisors; they do not get enough help form them. Equally important, the students do not have enough references at the library of the university. Adding to that, they complain about the short period of time they have to write the dissertation and the huge stress it causes. All of these factors affect the process of writing a dissertation.ar
