The present study has explored the role of intensive reading on improving third-year students of arabic use of collocations at Larbi Ben M'Hidi university, Oum-El-Bouaghi. To examine this effect, a quasi-experimental study was conducted. Two pre-existing groups of students were randomly assigned as experimental and control groups. Then, subjects in both groups were first pre-tested. After the treatment period, a post-test was administered for the experimental and the control group in the form of a fill-in the blank task. It is worth mentioning that the pre-test and the post-test were identical. The post-test results reveal that the experimental group subjects achieved higher scores than those of the control group. Therefore, the intensive reading technique played a great role in developing students' use of collocations.ar
