Abstract
This research work investigates the impact of the US media on public opinion toward African Americans. It also aims to explain how this minority has been represented in different types of American media and the impact of that on public opinion. Media plays a crucial role in American society since it represents the main common source of information for the public. In this regard, the work provides a historical overview about media's evolution in the United States, taking into account the two main categories: Mass media and social media. Due to its importance, media in the United States has a massive impact on how people believe, act, and perceive things. That is why it has been used as a determining factor in shaping and altering public opinion toward certain governmental policies. As a multicultural society, race issues in the US are considered highly challenging tasks. Thus, measuring public opinion through polls and surveys would be an effective strategy in decision undertakings. To give a consistent elucidation, the current work takes George Floyd and Oprah Winfrey as two distinct cases that reflect the positive as well as the negative influence of the US media. The reached results revealed the relationships between Media, public opinion, and people's behaviours.
