Abstract
This research investigates the effectiveness of using authentic videos as a teaching tool to improve the accent of third-year EFL students at l'Aarbi Ben Mhidi University. The objective of this study is to examine the impact of incorporating authentic videos on students' accent improvement. A quasi-experimental design was utilized, and a checklist was employed to evaluate students' progress. Additionally, students' speech was recorded as they read a passage related to the theme presented in the authentic videos. A pre-test and post-test were administered to assess changes in students' accents after exposure to the authentic videos. A statistically significant difference was recorded between post-test and pre-test's results, indicating that the authentic videos had a positive impact on improving students' accents. The findings of this study suggest that using authentic videos as a teaching tool can be effective in enhancing EFL students' accents. Integrating authentic video materials into language instruction can provide valuable exposure to natural language patterns, leading to improved pronunciation and accent.
