Investigating the impact of rewards on raising introvert students' classroom participation

Abstract
It is really difficult for teachers to make all students participate in the classroom. They tend to use different strategies to enhance the learning process. The present study investigates the impact of rewards on raising introvert student's classroom participation. The following questions are going to be raised : Do rewards increase introvert students' classroom participation? To what extent do rewards enhance introvert students' classroom participation? It is hypothesized that rewards are effective in raising introvert students' classroom participation. A descriptive method has been used for the data collection; there are two questionnaires which were administered to 16 teachers and 50 second year LMD students, at the english department, university of Larbi Ben M'Hidi Oum-El-Bouaghi to examine their perceptions and attitudes towards the topic being investigated. Thus, the results show that the research hypothesis is confirmed; that is to say, rewards are effective in raising introvert students' classroom participation.
