Abstract
Authentic listening materials are tools that help learners to improve their listening comprehension Teachers need to apply such materials in EFL classes to reach the needs desires. This study aims at investigating teachers' and learners' attitudes towards the use of authentic listening materials. In this respect three main hypotheses have been set forwards. The first hypothesis stated that there is a positive effect behind using authentic listening materials in EFL classes. The second hypothesis affirmed that there is a negative effect behind using authentic listening materials in EFL classes. The last hypothesis declared that there is no effect behind using authentic listening materials in EFL classes. To achieve the desired results, two questionnaires were administered to both teachers of oral expression and second year students in the department of English at Larbi Ben M'hidi University. The first questionnaire designed for 20 teachers out of 40 teachers and 40 students out of 247 students. Relying on the results obtained we accept the hypothesis that stated there is a positive effect behind using authentic listening materials in EFL classes.
