Abstract
Regarding the great importance of spelling in reading and writing, and therefore in literacy, the main objective of this study is to investigate the effect of electronic games on EFL learners' spelling. The challenge is to confirm or reject the hypothesis which states that if teachers use electronic games, learners would improve their spelling. A quasi-experimental design was adopted to reveal the effect of electronic games on learners' spelling. Then a questionnaire was administered to check whether or not the participants enjoy using electronic games to improve their spelling. The findings of experimental quantitative data confirmed the main hypothesis. That is, electronic games affect positively the learners' spelling. The findings of the questionnaire qualitative data also confirmed that the participants enjoy the use of electronic games to improve their spelling. Therefore, it is necessary for teachers to make sure that students are aware about the importance of electronic games in learning.
