Abstract
Throughout the years, the Algerian higher educational system was mainly depending on traditional learning for students. This has changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic that forced the implementation of blended learning across universities in order to keep people safe and distant. The main issues that students had faced while studying in traditional and blended learning modes and their impact on students' test performance were carefully tackled in this dissertation. The goal behind this research was to examine the effectiveness of blended learning on students' test results compared to traditional learning. Composed of two chapters, this paper, first, identified the learning modes and their characteristics as well as their impact on test performance in a literature review that was split into three sections. The second chapter dealt with the practical part of this study, where students were given a questionnaire beside getting their marks assessed and compared. The main results were in favor of blended learning semester; it was found that not only students performed better in their exams, but also their attitudes towards blended learning were mostly positive. It was indeed clear that blended learning had a slight positive impact on students' test performance despite it being implemented for the first time in our universities.
