The present study aims at investigating teachers' and students' attitudes towards the use of euphemism in explaining EFL vocabulary meaning. Two questionnaires were administered to thirty-six (36) teachers and seventy (70) first year students at the English Department of Oum El Bouaghi University during the academic year 2019-2020. After the analysis of the obtained data, the results came to confirm the hypothesis that teachers and learners have positive attitudes towards the use of euphemism in explaining EFL vocabulary meaning. Teachers and learners believe that this strategy can help learners to understand and grasp the meaning of vocabulary. Moreover, they assert that euphemism use contributes in enhancing their communicative competence. Therefore, teachers are urged to adopt this strategy.ar
