Abstract
This research is concerned with investigating the importance of motivation in enhancing students' autonomous learning from the third year students' perspective of English at Larbi Ben M'hidi University. Accordingly, this research seeks to explore the extent to which students' autonomous learning is enhanced in relation to motivation. A brief theoretical framework covers aspects of motivation and autonomous learning with a focus on the importance of motivation in enhancing autonomous learning. The fieldwork is conducted following a descriptive analytical method. Analyses are carried out to fulfil the main objective of this dissertation. The outcome of the overall research establishes valid evidence that motivation appears to influence students' autonomous learning to a considerable extent.
