Abstract
Classroom interaction is of vital importance in learning a foreign language. However, EFL students do not usually have the best opportunities to participate and interact in the classroom, and teachers should opt for certain teaching methods that can help to increase classroom interaction. Thus, the current study investigated teachers’ and students’ attitudes towards the effect of using task-based language teaching on enhancing EFL students’ classroom interaction. It was hypothesized that using task-based language teaching enhances EFL students’ classroom interaction. To check the stated hypothesis, two online questionnaires were administered to sixteen EFL teachers in the field of applied linguistics and fifty-two third year EFL students at the English department, Oum El Bouaghi University, during the academic year 2019-2020. In fact, the findings revealed that using task-based language teaching enhances EFL students’ classroom interaction.
