In the light of the 2011 Syrian Crisis, new media have been heralded as instrumental in facilitating the uprisings and shifting US foreign policy. This mémoireis intended to look closely at the extent to which new media were used to fight back the Syrian archaic regime and pressure the international policymaking process. Although new media are mainly perceived as tools for social interaction, they have played a substantial role in globalizing the Syrian Crisis and reshaping US stance towards it. Social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Blogs served as tools for organizing and generating awareness for political mobilization. New media's characteristics made them appealing to activists in Syria in their calls for democratization and redefined the factors controlling US foreign policymaking. Modern communication technologies have widely popularized the Syrian Crisis in the international community, proving the capacities of the internet in the expedition of political mobilization.ar
