| dc.description.abstract | This paper concentrates on the Anglo-American foreign policy towards Lebanon beginning in 1958, the year the of the first Marines' intervention in the country, until the present day. Furthermore, it deals with the participation of the Anglo-American forces amid multinational troops in Lebanon in 1982. Specifically, this work explores the circumstances and factors enclosing both deployments of the Anglo-America forces in 1958 and 1982, individually. More than that Particular regard is paid to the regional and international factors that impacted the U.S. and the U.K. decision to intervene and compare the aftermaths of both actions in the region. This research will also manifest the influences that Lebanese domestic politics exercises on America's foreign policy formulation towards the country. What should emerge from this paper is the clear pattern that is followed to guarantee the Western interests in the Middle East. | ar |
