Since the quality of teacher-student relationships (TSRs) is very crucial in determining academic performance a lack of specific studies on this subject within the context of L'arbi Ben M'hidi University is so unfortunate . This research investigates how TSRs affect academic performance among second year students and EFL teachers at L'arbi Ben M'hidi University. The study identifies factors that promote positive TSRs, propose methods for their improvement, and assess the negative consequences of poor TSRs on academic achievement. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected through surveys from both teachers and students using mixed methods approach. This extensive methodological design allowed for a complex understanding of how participants perceive and experience TSRs relating to educational outcomes. Chapter Two’s findings indicate that high-quality TSRs are highly correlated with better student performance. Mutual respect, effective communication channels as well as personalized feedback are some of the key elements that build up good relationships amongst people in schools. Whereas misunderstandings, lack of clarification, or apathy from tutors were cited as hindrances to academic success.Strategies put forward to improve TSRs include ensuring open information sharing, keeping consistent and positive criticism as well as showing genuine concern in the progress of students. In summary, this study emphasizes the importance of having a favorable TSR for academic success. Educational institutions can hence make schooling better by understanding and improving these connections. This research study covers a gap in existing literature and suggests practical actions that are relevant to the situation in L’arbi Ben M’hidi University geared towards improving education outcomes and making learning more enjoyable.
