Investigating students attitudes towards social media as learning environments: the case of master one EFL students at Larbi Ben M’hidi University

Abstract
Social media nowadays are considered as a crucial part of humans' daily lives and activities. They are means of communication and interacting that help in making new relations between people and help in many fields specially in the field of education. Therefore, this study aims to investigate students' attitudes towards the use of social media as learning environments by EFL learners at Larbi Ben M'hidi University. In other words, this study is a determination of whether these students have positive or negative attitudes towards the use of social networks in education. Hence, a qualitative study was conducted through a questionnaire by distributing it to 46 Master One EFL students. After that, the data collected were analyzed qualitatively. The findings were that most of the respondents of Master One EFL learners were positive towards the use of social media in education. In addition, they consider them as an impactful learning environments. Also, they provided enough justifications for their choices to assist the research's findings. As a result, and from the findings of the research, social media can be included in the Algerian educational system since they have that important role in facilitating learning and in providing an uncountable number of information.
