Therefore, english as foreign Language teachers have to develop effective strategies so that to encourage learners develop their capacities in learning phrasal verb. The current study aims at investigating the role of group work in facilitating phrasal verb learning on the part of English as Foreign Language learners. It also aims at facilitating the task for teachers to use group work in english as foreign Language classroom. Hence, we have raised the following question : does group work enhance phrasal verb learning ? And the proposed hypothesis which is phrasal verb learning will be enhanced if pupils work in groups. In order to fulfill the aim of the study, an experiment was carried out at Braknia Ali secondary school, Ain Beida with a sample of 70 learners of first year. The sample was divided into two groups (experimental and control group), each group was composed of 35 participants between the ages of 15 and 18. both groups were pre-tested, and performed the planned tasks for the study period. The experimental group received the treatment; that is to say, learners in the experimental group performed the tasks in groups, while the ones in the control group worked individually. At the end of the study, the post-test; including the same exercises as the pre-test, was distributed for learners in the two groups. The findings demonstrated that group work was significantly effective in enhancing phrasal verb learning. Finally, it can be stated that this strategy is effective but pair work might give better results in enhacing phrasal verb learning.
