This research work is an attempt to enlighten and discuss the reality of Islam and muslims in western europe through Tariq Ramadan's thoughts. from the second World War, muslims' immigration from Africa and Asia to Western europe did not stop. Nowadays, we are talking about the third generation of muslims and about Islam as the second religion in europe; however, muslims still suffer from discrimination. Tariq Ramadan is one of the european intellectual muslims, who called muslim citizens in western europe for more contribution and participation in their western societies in order to reach a good integration. Ramadan has a reformist orientation; his approach is based on contextualizing islamic sources according to European conditions, so that Muslims can preserve and practice freely their religion and enjoy harmonious citizenship. Muslims in Western Europe are like any citizens in terms of respecting laws and participating in the economic growth of their countries, but some political powers and governments perceive islam as a threat to Europe. Terrorism and its echo in western media helped a lot the spread of Islamophobia which led to a crucial campaign from some fanatic laics against islam and muslims. This situation pushed some countries, namely France and Switzerland, to legislate some racist laws against muslims. Ramadan's approach as well as his intellectual activities participated in clarifying the global message of islam and pushed muslim communities in the west to a good integration.ar
