dc.description.abstractnowadays, the study of the phytochemical and biological efficacy of medicinal plants have a great importance that researchers are required to study. The objective of this study is to assess the importance of a medicinal pharmaceutical plant, Atriplex halimus, which is a local plant belonging to the family Chenopodiaceae. the phytochemical survey revealed the content of the plant in alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids, saponins and glycosides in aerial parts. We also extracted a significant amount of essential oils from the leaves and stems of the studied plant through water distillation technique. In addition, we conducted a quantitative estimation of phenolic and flavonoid compounds for each of the extracts as follows: methanol, butanol, ethyl acetate. In parallel, we assessed the biological efficacy, by studying the antioxidant efficacy using DPPH for the following extracts: methanol, butanol, hexane, And ethyl acetate. we also studied the antibacterial activityusing both of extracted essential oils (leaves, stems) and methanolic extract.ar
