Abstract
This research purports to analyse segregation in schools in the united states from the period that followed the civil war of the middle 1860"s to second decade of the 20th century (1920) .After many decades of the subprime courts declaration that separate but equal schools are unconstitutional in Brown vs.Boared of education, many schools are still heavily segregated by race and ethnicity , in addition to investigating the reasons behind the failures in executing and abiding by the reconstruction among amendment (the thirteen ,fourteen and fifteen) outcomes the research seeks to examine the way black Americans were ritualized and segregated in the Southern states of the united states .the focus of this research is on negative impacts of the racial segregation on the performance gap between black and white students and the economic states of black students disallow them from attending high levelled , private colleagues and schools .this research come to the conclusion that black students dreams of full and equal opportunities remain mirage and never realized
