Abstract
-The present study aims at investigating teachers' and students' attitudes towards the effect of vocabulary depth on EFL learners' reading comprehension ability. That is assessing both teachers' and learners' attitudes towards this vocabulary dimension. Initially, to gather the needed data, a descriptive method was used in which two questionnaires were administered to both students and teachers from the Department of Foreign Languages at Larbi Ben M'hidi University, Oum El bouaghi .The students' questionnaire was given to master one students of English to get insights about their perceptions concerning vocabulary depth and its role in enhancing reading comprehension. On the other hand, the teachers’ questionnaire was administered to teachers to check their responses regarding their students' needs to vocabulary depth in reading comprehension. The results obtained in this study indicated that both teachers and learners hold positive attitudes towards the role of vocabulary depth in enhancing readers' reading comrehension.They also revealed that both informants seem aware about the importance of vocabulary knowledge and aspects related to vocabulary teaching/learning.
