The COVID-19 pandemic has emerged as a global health emergency due to its association with severe pneumonia and relative high mortality, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus that belongs to the family coronaviridae. Understanding SARS-CoV-2 nature, molecular characteristics and zoontic origin gives better perception of virus transmission, pathogenesis, immune response, and effective control in order to prevent it and to find a treatment against it, also may explain the rapid spread and the new variants. Moreover, the spike glycoprotein S of SARS-CoV-2 which mediates interaction with human cell surface receptor ACE2 represents the basic of vaccine development such as: inactivated vaccines, nucleic acid based vaccines, and vector vaccines, which they have already authorized for emergency to use from several organizations, among them the world health organization. Taking vaccines must considerate many conditions which laid by the producers and the global organizations that had applied stringent standards for quality, safety, and efficacy.ar
