dc.description.abstractThis research aims at shedding the light on the cultural aspects tackled in the textbook of 1st year secondary school (At the Crossroads) and to see the extent to which it consists of cultural aspects, the study raises the main question: Does 1st year secondary school textbook consist of cultural aspects? In order to answer this question, an evaluation of the textbook (At the Crossroads) was performed on two bases: one is analyzing the textbook to see whether there are cultural elements in the book, secondly; extracting these elements then analyzing them according to the division of cultural aspects given by the socialist Talcott (1952) to determine the exact cultural aspects included in the textbook. Though the analysis showed that culture was embedded in the textbook, very few aspects were covered, namely social organization, language, customs and traditions ,comes in second place art and literature with in a very small amount of elements and at last there was a huge neglect of the following aspects religion economic system, and form of government.ar
