This Mémoire is an attempt to appraise the American foreign policy in North Africa and its influence on the Algerian national security. The research aims at uncovering the real intentions of Obama's interventions in the region, and the resulted threats that can be generated from such a policy. Remarkably, Algeria remains the last standing country in North Africa, struggling and fighting threats through the careful conduct of foreign policies. The U.S. foreign policy in North Africa can hold a set of implications which can result in side effects on the Algerian national security. In this regard, two major points have been thoroughly discussed. Firstly, the semantics of the two terms ; national security and foreign policy' and an investigation of the existing relationship between them are provided The second point revolves around the analysis of the American foreign policy in North Africa and what might be generated from such policies and its influence on North Africa and Algeria's national securities. After exploring American foreign policy vis-à-vis North Africa in general and Algeria in particular, the study concludes that Obama's interventions to solve North African problems, as it is claimed, have failed. It also emphasizes that the main covers Obama have used to legitimize his intervention are fighting terrorism and promoting democracy while the real reasons were guaranteeing American needs of natural resources and maintaining the American hegemonic power.ar
