Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in disruptions in the normal daily life. In fact, The Algerian higher education institutions have adopted distance learning as an alternative learning format to face-to-face learning. This transformation imposed some challenges on learners, which influenced their learning habits, and hence their academic performance. The main concern of this dissertation is to investigate the influence of distance education on students' learning habits during the covid-19 pandemic. In the fulfillment ofthis aim, we adopted a mixed method approach, which is a blend of qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection. In the quantitative method, a questionnaire was distributed to fifty master one EFL learners at Larbi Ben M'hidi University, Oum El Bouaghi. In the qualitative method, a focus group was conducted with four of these students. The data collected from the students' questionnaire were analyzed statistically using the SPSS package program. The findings showed that distance education had an impact on students' learning habits with varying degrees, depending on the habit.
