The current study is mainly concerned with investigating teachers and students attitudes towards the use of the dictionary to enhance reading comprehension. It attempts to investigate teachers and students' attitudes towards the dictionary use in reading comprehension. The basic hypothesis set for this research work is that learners' use of dictionaries would ensure their reading comprehension. To prove the formulated hypothesis, a descriptive study was conducted through two questionnaires, one for ten teachers and the other one for fifty seven first year LMD students from the Department of English at Larbi Ben Mhidi University, to review their perceptions concerning the role of the dictionary in promoting reading comprehension. The obtained results indicate that the dictionary has an important role in facilitating reading comprehension for beginners EFL learners.ar
