| dc.description.abstract | The present work aims at studying the main reasons behind the US invasion of Iraq under George W. Bush administration as well as the outcomes of that war on the economy and security in the Middle East. Undoubtedly, the 9/11 attacks marked a historical turning point, with an intense impact on the US Foreign policy and the international order. Responsively, the United States launched a global war on terrorism and the invasion of Iraq in March 2003 was a part from that military campaign. Based on false pretense and without concrete evidence, the United States accused Baghdad of being responsible for the 9/11 atrocities, sponsoring terrorism, and developing Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD).The provided arguments led to a non-dropsically war that costed both nations and the World in general big damages. Overall, the United States' attempt to preserve its hegemony and interests in the Middle- East caused an instability, ethnic fragmentation and deep economic destruction in Iraq. | ar |
