dc.description.abstractSpeaking is one of the key components of language proficiency which is attained through the integration of multiple speaking sub-skills including fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary, comprehension, and grammar. Any deficiencies in these components can seriously impede one’s ability to communicate in and comprehend a language. Particularly, the lack of fluency in speaking can hinder the learner’s capacity to convey their ideas, hence impeding their overall language competency and communication efficacy. Attempting to address his issue, the current study focuses on exploring the effectiveness of using animation as a teaching tool to enhance speaking fluency among EFL learners. This animated content was represented as anime, cartoons, and animated pictures in Power-Point presentation. It is, thus, hypothesized that 1st year EFL students exposed to animation in oral sessions at L’arbi Ben M’hidi University will demonstrate a significant improvement in their speaking fluency compared to those taught without animation. To test this hypothesis, a quantitative research method was adopted. Utilizing a quasi-experimental research design, the study was conducted on a sample population that is composed of two first year EFL classes at L’arbi Ben M’hidi University. A total of 40 students have participated in this investigation. During oral sessions, the experimental group was taught via animation while the control group was taught without animation. The results showed that the experimental group scores have improved significantly after the treatment compared with the control group which was not exposed to same treatment. On the basis of the findings it is recommended to implement animation as a teaching tool to improve learners speaking fluency.
