Online feedback between acceptance and rejection in the algerian EFL classrooms

Abstract
Recently, the process of providing feedback is somehow changed from the traditional face to face classroom feedback because of the coming generation of technology_ especially internet and social media_ that is implemented in the process of teaching and learning foreign languages. It made the process more interesting and enjoyable. Those internet tools are used to boost learners’ motivation and to fulfill their learning needs. Therefore, the present research aims at investigating EFL learners’ and teachers’ attitudes towards the utilization of internet tools in providing feedback as well as revealing the impact of online feedback on EFL learners’ motivation and the four skills. This work is based on a review of literature related to online feedback and carrying out a practical research. Thus, to conduct this research, the researchers opted for the use of the descriptive method in which questionnaires were used as a data collection tools with the sample of thirteen (13) teachers and sixty nine (69) Third Year LMD Students at L’arbi Ben M’hidi University-Oum El Bouaghi, the Department of English. The data collected were analyzed quantitatively by the use of the software SSPS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences). The findings of this study showed that the integration of online feedback in EFL classrooms is effective when it comes to improving learners’ motivation and developing their four skills which may conclude that EFL learners and teachers can be satisfied with the use of online feedback in the EFL classes.
