Abstract
The presentresearchpurports to analyze the U.S. foreignpolicytowardRussia and China in contemporaryhistory, with a particularemphasis on the War by Proxy. Historically, the U.S. adopted the Proxy War by providingeconomic, military and logistic assistance to local states fighting on behalf of the country during the Cold Warperiod. This researchseeks to examine the way in which the United States importedWar by Proxy from the Cold Warera and tries to adoptit in modern politics. It furtherattempts to unveil the real motives behind the U.S. unconditional support to Ukraine and Taiwan nowadays. The researchhypothesizes, amongst all, that the policy the U.S. adoptswhendealingwith the ongoingUkrainian and Taiwanese crises is a regeneration of its Cold Warstrategies, namely the one of the War by Proxy. The course of the eventsreveals that the major aimbehind the implementation of the Proxy War by the U.S. is to undermineRussia and China'spolitical and economicgrowth to preserveits world hegemony and the unipolar world orderitestablished following the end of the Cold Warera. This researchconcludes that the primaryaimbehind the U.S. unconditional support to Ukraine and Taiwan has never been to support theirsovereignty as independent states or to promotestability in bothregions. The actualaim, however, is to hinder the Sino-Russian alliance and the recently-formed New World Orderwhichrepresent a counterweight to the U.S. world hegemony and a threat to itsinterests, by regenerating the War by Proxy.
