Item Democracy promotion in the american foreign policy 2003-2011(university of Oum-El-Bouaghi, 2013) Saou, Khadija; Ghenam, FatimaDemocracy promotion is a foreign policy adopted by governments and international organizations that seek to spread democracy as a political system around the world. While this policy is perceived by some as legal and legitimate mainly by the western democracies precisely the U.S.A; others claimed the opposite that the western democracies do not have the right to exercise such activity. Egypt is one case where the U.S.A planned its aid program in order to save according to the "egyptians from authoritarianism" under the umbrella of "democracy promotion". The present work contends that behind the blog argument that Democracies do not fight each other democracy promotion argument as merely an imperialist, global and beneficial reason. Publicly, the United States pronounced its role as the world's super-power to spread human rights and democracy in the world (along with other western democracies). In reality, the U.S.A violated such claims and especially through military interventions like that of Iraq. All of that gave the United States of America a hypocritical image which became so clear in recent decades regardless of the efforts done to hide it.Item Multiculturalism and multicultural education in the United States of America between theory and practice an anlytical study(university of Oum-El-Bouaghi, 2013) Bouhalla, Mouna; Ghenam, FatimaMulticulturalism is a reaction against the prejudices and limitations that are observed on both global and national levels. Such a policy emerged by the early twentieth century as a greatest challenge for erthinc, cultural groups to cope this open globalized world. The U.S.A is but an example of a nation where diversity is its main feature. But, in fact multiculturalism is still ambiguous among americans. The lack of cultural awareness, poor academic performance and oppression were major concerns for a society that has continued to be more diverse. For these reasons, multicultiral education takes place as a major curriculum component to solve this problem. It reformed the american educational system in wich all students can understand diverse cultures and create an effective multicultural classroom. The present dissertation tends ti look at the historical development of multiculturalism and the current situation of multicultural education in the U.S.A. wich provides a hope in a time when the future of some ethinc groups is unclear. Most importantly, it provides an opportunity for all americans to create a more equitable society. To this end, the dissertation analyzes the real practices of multicultural education in schools to prove that M.E. is the best way generate a society where mutual respect, understanding and acceptance of the others would be the norm.
