    The Role of quantitative methods in improving the economic institutions’ performance

    Quantitative Methods are among the applied sciences that have achieved a wide spread after WWII, in which its applications expended to include both industrial and services sectors. These methods are one of the most important scientific ways that help to make more accurate decisions and being fare from the randomness of applying the trial and error’s theory. They rely on the appropriate information to choose the best alternative for solving problems and improving the performance This study aims to highlight the role and the effectiveness of applying the quantitative methods in improving the Algerian industrial enterprises’ performance by dealing firstly with the concept of the quantitative methods and its historical development. Secondly, with the linear programming and the optimization’s issue. Finally, with the attempt of highlighting the contribution of linear programming in improving the performance of POVAL corporation’s valve unit; which reaches out that the use of the quantitative methods contributes in enhancing the economic institution’s performance.
