Item African american women political participation during the civil right movement(university of Oum-El-Bouaghi, 2014) Demmen Debbih, Ilhem; Brahimi, HalimaThis memoire deals with the civil rights movement that was started by african- americans to achieve the same rights as whites in education, employment, and in all public places. There were a lot of factors that led to the civil rights movement. One factor was the brown vs. Board education decision by supreme court in 1954 stating that segregation on schools was unconstitutional, and other was the arrest of Rosa Parks in 1955 for refusing to give her seat for a white man .They continued struggling until the assassination of Martin Luther King in 1968. In addition, black women played an essential role in this movement. They risked their lives in order to gain civil rights that brought the different organizations led to the development of black women's political participation. Therefore, they are successfully reaching a big change through the success of the Civil Rights Movement taking Angela Davis as a case study to show that America has finally overcome racism in their society.Item Algerian asylum seekers in the UK during the1990's(university of Oum-El-Bouaghi, 2014) Gouadjelia, Imane; Brahimi, HalimaThe post-cold war witnessed the emergence of terrorist groups that attacked the security of some countries. The clash between the algerian government and the extremist groups led to the aggravation of the status quo. A conflict was the outcome of the state of chaos in the 1990's. It pushed some algerians to leave the country and to apply for asylum in the UK. Their number was increased from 45 applications in the early 1990's to 10,672 in 2001. So, the aim of the present paper is to provide an appropriate definition for asylum seekers, as well as to analyze the conditions that pushed algerians to leave their country. It also describes the major legislations that the UK made them as a reaction to the presence of algerian asylum seekers. In particular, the memoire examines the history of Algerian asylum seekers in the UK and their situations there. It shows how their presence in UK started to be considered as a threat after the events of September. Finally, this study reveals that those Algerians who enter britain as asylum seekers were deemed to be terrorists.Item Raising and educating muslim children in the United States of America between public and islamic schools(university of Oum-El-Bouaghi, 2014) Harnane, Amel; Brahimi, HalimaThis paper addresses many crucial factors that contribute to the good raising and educating muslim children in USA. As matter of fact, muslim parents today find themselves under great pressure with a very hard task. In which they face many challenges in the american society, but they are more conscious of the necessity make their children grow in an Islamic environment. In order to achieve their goals in maintaining the islamic identity, parents endeavor to supply their kids with strong home schooling based on islamic values, hand in hand with choosing the right and the appropriate school for acquiring knowledge. Muslim parents recognized that the best choice for their children is an islamic school that provides the adequate education based on the roots of Qur'an, Sunnah, and the arabic language. Thereby, parents succeeded in keeping their children on the path of their Islamic heritage. Furthermore, muslim children are in a safe environment and they are educated adequately.
