Item Investigating the impact of using google translate on EFL students’ translation quality at L'arbi Ben M'hidi university Oum El-Bouaghi(Université De Larbi Ben M’hidi Oum EL Bouaghi, 2022) Bouzid, Khaoula; Hafid, Rania; Merabet, Mohamed-HamzaIn these days of globalization, Google Translate has become one of the most important translation tools. It provides quick translation among a very large number of languages, and it is becoming increasingly available for students of languages for academic purposes. The current study aims at investigating the impact of this service on EFL students' translation quality. In pursuance of this aim, third year LMD students at L'arbi Ben M'Hidi University were selected as the target population of the study. An experimental study was conducted, and data was collected and analyzed quantitatively. The instrument used was a translation test given to each participant to be answered in three stages. The data collected from the translation test were assessed and analyzed by identifying and classifying the errors, and then they were calculated based on statistical measures. The results obtained from the experiment have shown an improvement in the experimental group. In addition, the analysis of the data has revealed that students who used Google Translate translated the passage given better than those who did not used it. The use of Google Translate can be useful in order to get rid of other problems that EFL learners can encounter, such as vocabulary.
