Item Joe Biden’s foreign policy doctrine addressing the Israeli- Palestinian Conflict(University of Oum El Bouaghi, 2024) Bendaher Abderrahim; Ouakkaf, Abderrezzak; Badi, RimaThis dissertation critically examines President Joe Biden’s foreign policy in relation to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict during the ongoing war in Gaza. Employing historical, analytical, and descriptive approaches, the primary focus is on analyzing the unwavering U.S. support to Israel under Biden’s administration and understanding the reasons behind it. Furthermore, the study aims to dissect Biden’s foreign policy philosophy, which emphasizes multilateralism compared to his predecessor’s policy. By evaluating Biden administration’s doctrine through the perspectives of international law, human rights, and international cooperation, this research seeks to assess its effectiveness in addressing the crisis in the Middle East. Despite its endorsement of human rights and a two-state solution, the administration’s substantial military assistance to Israel and its consistent vetoing of ceasefire resolutions and Palestinian United Nations membership expose the intricate complexities and contradictions within U.S. policy. These actions are motivated by strategic interests and ideological commitments. The research findings demonstrate the inconsistencies and challenges facing American foreign policy, which is accused of hypocrisy and double standards. This work contributes to a deeper understanding of U.S. mediation in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by providing a comprehensive analysis of historical patterns, policy decisions, and their implications.
