Item Deleuzian becoming and nomadic subjectivity in bharati mukherjee’s Jasmine(Université De Larbi Ben M’hidi Oum EL Bouaghi, 2022) Boukakra, Djihane; Bekakra, TahaniWomen and femininity in general in Freudian Psychoanalysis specially in the Oedipus Complex are obviously getting reduced to an inferior degree if compared to Man. At the pre-Oedipial stages the boy and the girl are considered as the same and the only difference between the mis the presence of the Penis in the boy's body and its lack in the girl's body. The binary system that Psychoanalysis rely on to study the growth, identity an sexuality of the male and the female makes it unfair because it is based on a completely male model where women are not considered as an indepent sex by itself but as the inferior castrated version of men, so the phallus is what makes men superior to women. This conclusion about sexes and self-value norm is the main factor that leads to the reproduction of patriarchy. The conclusion made by Psychoanalysis about women was recieved a high amount of criticism from Feminits such as Luce Irigaray who is famous for her criticism to psychoanalysis concerning the point of sameness between the feminine and the musculine sexes and her calling for sexual difference rather sexual neutrality. Oedipus Complex is highly criticised by the two philosophers Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, they offers a new philosophies and concepts that are oppositional to the Oedipial thinking and call for thinking about woman beyond the oedipial thinking. The most important concept of them and the main one that i used to work with in my thesis is ''Becoming'', this concept is very useful for feminists since it offers a new way of thought for them. Feminism that contains a Deleuzian way of thought is a Deleuzian Feminism. The most famous feminist who inspired by the Deleuzian Feminism is Rosi Braidotti who developped the notion of subjectivity of the woman to a Nomadic Subjectivity which means the continual changing and transformation.Item Munchausen syndrome by proxy: a psychological and motivational reading of Nicola Yoon's everything, everything 2015(University of Oum El Bouaghi, 2023) Badis, Khouloud; Bekakra, TahaniThe present research examines Munchausen syndrome by proxy, its historical background, its characteristics, and its criteria in Nicola Yoon's work Everything, Everything. The study aims to analyze and familiarize itself with the Munchausen syndrome by proxy from a literary perspective. This work attempts to study the reasons behind the actions of the perpetrator, or the mother, Pauline, and how the victim, Madeline, copes with them. This research uses a psychological theory, which is the psychoanalytic theory of Sigmund Freud (denial and rationalization), and a humanistic theory, which is the theory of human motivation (Maslow's hierarchy of needs), for the purpose of understanding the reasons and motives behind the actions of the perpetrator and the victim. Finally, this research suggests that the Munchausen syndrome by proxy in this case (Everything, Everything) is a reaction to past traumas and feelings. For that reason, it is a tool to escape the threat of those traumas.Item The Construction of a monster mind: a psycho biosocial reading of Valery Macdermaid’s the Mermaids singing 1995(University of Oum El Bouaghi, 2023) Bahri, Nesrine; Bekakra, TahaniFantasy villains, antagonists, and serial murderers are perpetually enigmatic and compelling characters in contemporary fiction novels .In order to fully grasp and comprehend the true wonders and mysteries of the violent human behavior, this thesis explores the hidden reasons behind the abnormal, erotic, fantasies and compulsions of Angelica ,a homosexual serial killer who is so profoundly malignant yet so artistically evil in Valery Macdermaid's the Mermaids Singing .,Furthermore, it exclusively introduces an active close reading to this vicious slaughterer through the eyes of the biosocial and trait theories of crime by the famous clinical psychiatrics Anthony Welsh and Kevin M .Beaver. This approach reflects the biological, social and individual orientations that build and beautify those dehumanized acts of pure evil. In order to understand the psychopathological character of Angelica, this study utilizes numerous concepts such as the Aestheticization of serial killing in crime fiction, alongside a group of mental disorders such as Malignant Narcissism, Psychopathy, Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Erotomania and Schizophrenia. Based on these conceptual analyses, this thesis finds out that Angelica's monstrosity and complex neurological and social states are driven by errors in her genetic coding and biological dysfunction .Item The Resistance literature in Ghassan Kanafani's novels(Université De Larbi Ben M’hidi Oum EL Bouaghi, 2021) Bensaci, Ibtihel; Bekakra, TahaniThis study analyses two novels by a Palestinian writer, Ghassan Kanafani, in an attempt to explore the themes of resistance. The two novels are: Men in the Sun (1963) and Return to Haifa (1969). An explanation of the novelist's awareness of the role of literature is enhanced by a discussion on the concept of resistance literature. It identifies various elements that regulate the borders and scope of such a literature. Its emphasis is on scrutinizing historical, cultural and socio-political, critical and generic dimensions of the term "resistance literature" as well as its significance in the context of Palestine and in particular of Ghassan Kanafani. Views and examples of such literature developed in other parts of the world are also brought into discussion to measure the influence of it in contemporary literary scenarios. Moreover, this thesis mainly investigates the role of literature in the struggle of Palestine and its involvement in assisting to awaken nationalistic feelings among the people. For this purpose it analyses real life situations and images of suffering projected in everyday Palestinian life and issues related to the identity of Palestinians as the people of the land. It focuses on the theme of resistance in each of the novels: Returning to Haifa and Men in the Sun. In addition, it explores how the tone, style and structure have been employed by the novelist to signify the circumstances of the Palestinians. Therefore, Kanafani's literature defines the feature of an "authentic" Palestinian culture. As for the methodology, this study uses textual and critical analysis for themes of resistance literature. A close reading to the socio-historical contexts is essential as well as a methodology. The point of view of the author and his progress are also paid attention to.
