Item Barack Obama's foreign policy towards the syrian refugees crisis 2011-2016(university of Oum- El- Bouaghi, 2017) Bouziane, Rania; Badi, RimaThis Mémoire attempts to analyze the Syrian Conflict and the Refugees Crisis. It also tries to figure out the main policy adapted by the American President Barack Obama towards the Syrian refugee crisis. As the Syrian Crisis formed without clear end, large refugee problems have begun to emerge, resettlement and assistance ideas were the best available solutions for the United States; President Barack Obama offered opportunities to achieve acceptable results to help these Syrian refugees. More specifically, this work handles the issue of the Syrian sheltered people who cross border. Accordingly, this research sheds the light on the policy of President Obama towards the refugee crisis. The research work deals with two points, first showing how the Syrian events started to grow and what was the Syrian government strategy followed by the refugee problems. The second is the U.S. policy and strategies during Obama's administration on behalf the Syrian crisis and its humanitarian issue, chased with critics from many political opponents. Hence, the conclusion reached in this study is that Obama's policy towards the Syrian crisis was to stop the violence happening in Syria and he supported those opposition groups to confront against Bashar al-Assad regime. Likewise, he tried to protect his administration's interests. Nonetheless regarding to the Syrian refugees, he called the whole world to step up and started welcoming them within his own country.Item Charismatic leadership and U.S. presidential campaigns(Oum-El-Bouaghi, 2020) Larbaa, Chaima; Badi, RimaCharismatic leadership is a subject that has been widely discussed in politics, mainly, during and after the 2008 and 2012 U.S. Presidential Elections. The rise of the first African-American president Barack Obama prompted discussions over the charismatic quality of his rhetoric and brought more attention to his charismatic leadership. This dissertation sheds light on the role of charismatic rhetoric in the U.S. presidential campaigns. It investigates the use of charismatic rhetoric in presidential campaigns and its perception by the public and the media. In order to fully examine the use and importance of charismatic rhetoric in creating the image of a charismatic leader, the 2008 and 2012 campaigns of the presidential candidate Barack Obama were taken as a case study. The dissertation also addresses the development of the concepts of charisma, charismatic leadership, and charismatic rhetoric and their relevancy to the field of modern politics. Overall, the charismatic rhetoric of Barack Obama's political produce was high in the 2008 electoral campaign whereas it marked a remarkable partial absence of such quality in 2012. Also, media perceptions and popular opinion about Obama's charismatic rhetoric were more positive and enthusiastic in the 2008 election compared to 2012, mirroring the slight change in the charismatic quality of his rhetoric.Item Climate change in Barack Obama’s National Security Strategies(Université de Larbi Ben M’hidi-Oum Oum El Bouaghi, 2022) Naoun, Amel; Badi, RimaClimate change presents many dangers to the United States , however, it has been questionable to perceive it as such. This study is meant to look for hints of regarding climate change as threat to the US security. Review the issue and look at it in the light of National Security Strategies (2010, 2015), Search for the reasons to such consideration, and underline the efforts done by Obama and his administration to confront this challenge at the local and global levels. Relevant data has been collected and processed. Also making use of inductive reasoning and analysis. Due to its short history, and being a mixture of religious and ethnic groups, America is very different from the rest of European countries. Therefore, the American identity is exceptional. The huge number of Hispanic immigrants to the United States, their density, linguistic homogeneity, and other characteristics that distinguish them constitute a threat to the American identity. As they seek to divide the country into two cultures: Anglo and Hispanic, and two languages: English and Hispanic. So, some studies claim that this threat is fact, while others insist that this threat is fiction. Ultimately, and based on numerous studies, the emergence of a self-sufficient subgroup that primarily speaks Spanish does not pose a serious threat, and Greater America remains an indomitable nation, identity, and entity. It provides an historical background on the use of money in American electoral contests, the two major types of political funds: Public financing which is offered to political candidates under certain conditions, and private funding that raises many concerns among anti- corruption supporters. The work also addresses the major sources of campaign financing and how it raises the dilemma of money donation equals free speech. It further explores the several rules that have attempted to regulate the process of fundraising as well as money's incredible flood into American electoral contests since the founding of the Republic. Since running for American presidency is a very expensive task. The costs keep rising over the years pushing candidates to solicit huge amounts of money in order to be able to cover the campaign costs. Due to its importance, media in the United States has a massive impact on how people believe, act, and perceive things. That is why it has been used as a determining factor in shaping and altering public opinion toward certain governmental policies. As a multicultural society, race issues in the US are considered highly challenging tasks. Thus, measuring public opinion through polls and surveys would be an effective strategy in decision undertakings. To give a consistent elucidation, the current work takes George Floyd and Oprah Winfrey as two distinct cases that reflect the positive as well as the negative influence of the US media. To give a consistent explanation about the significant role of the Jewish lobby in shaping the U.S. foreign policy, hostility towards Iran is taken as a case study. The work discusses the structure of the Jewish lobby and the penetration mechanisms used by its members to control and formulate decision-making inside the White House. More to the point, this study provides an overview about the impact of the Jewish lobby on Obama administration's foreign policy towards several Middle Eastern countries: Palestine, Egypt and Iraq. It also aims to address the main reasons behind the US intervention and strategies towards the Middle- East matters. The work also aims at investigating the political strategies and practices of the Trump's administration and its impact on the conflict. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has long been a main issue for the Globe. Since its beginning in the mid -twentieth century, the US foreign policy in the Middle East in general and towards the conflict in particular varied from one administration to another. The study provides an over view about the US foreign policy in the Middle- East at different phases of time. In addition to that, it analyzes the impact of the political strategies and practices adopted by the administration. The results obtained from the study demonstrate that the U.S. foreign policy and political strategies during Trump administration is completely biased to "Israel" and all the initiatives put forward by it do not give the Palestinian people the most basic rights to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state.
