Sarcastic blogging has known an extension and wide spread with the emergence of digital media, where it has varied forms according to the characteristics of this new environment, which formed an incubator for its users.Those who found in it an alternative outlet to practice free political and social criticism away from the various forms of restriction and censorship.Memes emerges as the most widely used ironic expression tools made available by these various media, as it represents expressions aimed at communicating ideas or criticizing behaviors of individuals and governments through a presentation that tends to be ironic, whether using images, videos or written texts. Hence, this study comes in an attempt to reveal the connotations and dimensions of memes as a new mechanism for expression and satirical political criticism in Algeria within the digital environment, through an analytical study of a sample of the publications of MouradBiar's Facebook page.
